Daria
Masiero studied singing and cello at the Conservatorio
Antonio Vivaldi in Alessandria with Rita Orlandi
Malaspina, and in Vignola with Mirella Freni. She
won a Diploma di Accademia at the Teatro alla Scala,
Milan.
Her numerous prizes include being a Cardiff finalist
in 2005; second prize in the 2004 Voci Verdiani competition
at Busseto; first prize in the 2003 Aleolona di Fermo
competition; second prize in the Spirto Argiris Competition
in Sarzana; second prize in the Festival Pucciniano competition;
and in 2000, she was the winner of the Caruso competition
in Milan.
Ms. Masiero has sung the following roles: Mimì in La
Bohème at the Miskloc National Theatre
in Hungary, at the Teatro Comunale di Alessandria,
and at the Torre del Lago Puccini Festival; covered
Desdemona in Otello for La Scala in Milan;
Anna in Nabucco for the Teatro Pallavicino
Bussetto and at the Piazza del Campo in Siena; Manon
in Boulevard Solitude, Musetta in La Bohème,
and Liù in Turandot for Teatro Carlo
Felice in Genoa; Imelda in Oberto for Adelia
Ugo conte di Parigi; Nella in Gianni Schicchi for
the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan; Serpina in La
Serva Padrona for Teatro Massima in Palermo; Nedda
from Pagliacci for the Teatro Bellini in Catania;
Vivette in L'arlesiana for the Teatro di Cosenza;
Zerlina in Don Giovanni for Teatro Regio in
Turin; Despina in Così fan tutte for
the Grand Theatre in Geneva; Micaëla in Carmen for
the Teatro Regio in Torino and Catanzaro and Reggio
Calabria, Italy; and Glauce from Cherubini’s Medea. Ms.
Masiero also sang Mozart's Requiem at the
Paganini Auditorium in the Teatro Regio di Parma with
tenor José Carreras, and she sang a concert
dedicated to Puccini Women at Torre del Lago with famed
tenor Plácido Domingo. She sang the role
of Adelia from Donizetti's Ugo, Conte di Parigi at
the Arcimboldi Theatre in Milan, and she sang in A
Midsummer's Night's Dream by Mendelssohn at the
same theatre. She has also given many concert
performances.
In 2007, she sang a reprisal of Mimì in Busan,
Korea and she also sang Rossini’s Stabat Mater in
Nice and Monte Carlo. Future engagements include
Glauce in Medea for both Torino and Teatro Massimo
in Palermo; Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Padova
and Bassano del Grappa, Italy; Margaretha in Boito's Mefistofole for
Savonlinna, Finland; and Magda in La Rondine with
Nice Opera.
